RdlR Architects Specifies Elgin Butler SGT for HISD
Houston-based architect Rey de la Reza and Associates (RdlR) specified Elgin Butler Structural Glazed Tile on the interior and exterior of Carnegie Vanguard High School.
Working with Turner Construction and Camarata Masonry, RdlR Architects specified over 9,500 Elgin Butler Structural Glazed Tile (SGT) units on the interior and exterior of Carnegie Vanguard High School (CVHS), an educational facility for gifted and talented students in grades 9-12. Part of the Houston Independent School District (HISD), CVHS covers more than 84,500 square feet over two stories. To add color and dimension to the school entrance and courtyard, RdlR used 9,500 8″ x 16″ SGT units in #8800 Fiesta Red and #4550 Pumpkin Orange.
“RdlR was able to create a building that educates with exposed buildings systems, integration of outdoor learning environments and use of durable low maintenance materials,” said Ramon Moss, Principal of CVHS.
Offering a family of ceramic glazed masonry products designed to last a lifetime, Elgin Butler is proud to have been part of this community project.
